This was the night of amai!
Amai! celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, and we didn't want to let that milestone pass quietly! That's why the amai! team organised the Night of amai! at Technopolis on 12 February: a full evening of festivities to celebrate five years of amai! achievements! From citizens' ideas to concrete AI innovations. From street theatre to large-scale media campaigns. It was a special gathering where citizens, policymakers, researchers, innovators, and representatives of the Flemish AI strategy discovered together what the impact of citizen participation on AI innovation can be.
We looked back on five years of public participation in AI innovation, highlighted the 17 different amai! projects that were funded and realised, and ended the evening with a crackling improv performance with AI by ERLNMYR.
We also gave a sneak preview of the future of amai!. Scivil and our teammates at the Knowledge Centre for Data and Society are working hard on a new version of the amai! project. We remain committed to actively involving citizens in AI innovation, but this will soon take on a new form. More on that soon!
