- Public event - Scivil event

On June 18, we are celebrating citizen science with the Citizen Science Fair 2025, organised by Scivil, ECS and ECSA.

The Citizen Science Fair is a prelude to the Cluster Event 'Advancing Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the ERA', that will take place on June 19.

Citizen Science Fair

Free and open to all - Will you join us?

  • Date: Wednesday, 18 June 2025
  • Time: 10:30 - 17:00
  • Location: Garden of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Vautier Street 29, 1000 Brussels

What's it all about?

Did you know anyone can be a scientist? Citizen science brings research closer to you: people from all walks of life – including you – can help make discoveries, collect data, and explore the world around us.
Join us and discover how you can make a real difference.

On 18 June 2025, we invite you to explore inspiring projects and meet the people behind the science. This free outdoor event celebrates how everyday actions can lead to extraordinary discoveries.

What can you expect?

  • Exhibitions & Showcases: Interactive stands featuring citizen science projects from Brussels, across Belgium, and beyond.
  • Live Demos: Join in and experience science in action – collect data, analyse results, and more!
  • Meet & Talk: Chat with scientists, policymakers, and fellow citizen scientists. Got a great idea for a project? We’d love to hear it!

Who is it for?

Everyone! Families, students, teachers, scientists, non-scientists, curious minds, and even passers-by … this is your science celebration!
